The Best Avocado Crema Recipe

Avocado crema will take your next meal to a whole new level! I am all about pairing flavorful and vibrant sauces to make my meals shine. Instead of pairing your next burrito bowl or taco with sliced avocado, try making this avocado crema to add loads of flavor! The process to making your first batch of avocado crema is super easy. You just need a food processor of blender, and about 5 minutes of your time! You can make your avocado cream thicker for a dip style consistency, or add a drizzle of olive oil or water to thin it out for a creamy salad dressing consistency! No matter what you choose, you will definitely start making this on the regular.

Ingredients Needed

Avocado: The base of this avocado crema is ripe avocado! Sour Cream: Sour cream adds a bit of creaminess and a hint of tang. You can also use plain greek yogurt or mayo if you prefer. Cilantro: Adds so much fresh flavor. If you don’t have fresh you can add in parsley or dried cilantro. Lime Juice: Lime juice balances out all the flavors and adds a hint of tang. Honey: This will balance out the spicy jalapeño and lime! Garlic: For a bit of savory flavor. Jalapeño: If you are sensitive to spice, make sure to take the seeds out. Olive Oil: To thin out the sauce to your desired consistency. Alternatively, you can use a splash of water.

Recipe Variations

Sour Cream: Replace the sour cream with plain greek yogurt as a slightly healthier option! Or, to make vegan avocado crema, you can omit the sour cream or add a vegan substitute. Cilantro: Cilantro is the best herb option here, however, you can try a variation with parsley instead! Consistency: If your avocado sauce comes out too thick, try adding a splash of water or olive oil. If it is too thin, add some extra avocado! Spice: If you want a bit of spice or added flavor, add a little dash of cumin or cayenne pepper to the mix.
