That is where these cranberry brie bites come in! They are super easy to make, and so festive and yummy! The flaky crescent roll crust combined with creamy brie cheese, fruity cranberry sauce, and crunch pecans is the absolute best combination of flavors and textures. If you use all pre-made items, these brie cranberry pastries can be made with very minimal effort and served in less than 30 minutes!
Ingredients Needed
Crescent Roll Dough: For ease you can use the store-bought cans of crescent roll dough! If you are feeling ambitious then try my homemade crescent roll dough! Brie Cheese: One wheel of brie cheese will do. Cranberry Sauce: Homemade cranberry sauce or your favorite brand of canned sauce will both do the trick! This is a great recipe to use up leftover cranberry sauce from Thanksgiving dinner! Chopped Pecans: For added crunch and a delicious nutty flavor! Fresh Rosemary: Garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs, if desired.
How to Make These Brie Bites
Preheat & Prep: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Grease a mini muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray. Cut the Dough: Roll out the crescent dough and pinch the seams. Cut into 24 squares.
Place into Tin: Place each square in the prepared mini muffin pan.
Cut the Brie: Cut the brie into squares. Then top each crescent dough with a square of cheese and 1 tsp of cranberry sauce.
Sprinkle Pecans: Sprinkle the chopped pecans on top.
Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the crescent roll dough is golden brown. If the cheese overflows, use a butter knife to scoop it back in while it is still warm. Serve: Serve with a sprig of rosemary on each and enjoy!
Tips for Success
This cranberry brie bites recipe is most easily made with store-bought crescent rolls. However, you can also make homemade crescent dough if you would like! I recommend serving your cranberry brie crescent roll bites warm! You can also serve them at room temperature, but they are best when the brie is nice and melty. If you want, you can use puff pastry dough instead of crescent roll dough!
variations
Cheese: You can choose to make these cranberry brie pastry cups with a different kind of cheese like goat cheese, cheddar, or manchego! Fruit: Cranberry sauce is super festive for the holidays but you can make these year round with apricot preserves, cherry preserves, or hot pepper jelly! Topping: It is always nice to have a crunchy topping on top. The chopped pecans can be replaced with slivered almonds, crumbled bacon, pistachios, or candied pecans!
