They are a sweet treat that are packed with nutrients, making them the perfect go-to snack or dessert! If you need an easy snack or dessert to pop into your kid’s lunch boxes or to have on hand when that sweet tooth hits, look no further! Making homemade energy bites is as simple as mixing the ingredients together and chilling in the fridge. No need to turn on the oven for these little protein packed treats!
ingredients needed
Creamy Peanut Butter: Peanut butter adds protein and helps these energy bites to stick together! You can use any nut butter you would like. Old Fashioned Oats: I like using old fashioned oats here. They are hearty and packed with nutrients and fiber! Ground Flax Seed: Adds a boost of fiber and healthy fats! If you don’t have ground flax seed, feel free to substitute it with hemp seeds, chia seeds or simply add some extra oats in there. Honey: For a touch of sweetness! You could substitute maple syrup or agave however I find that honey is stickier then the two and tends to help keep the energy balls together. Mini m & m’s: Some mini m & m’s turn these from normal energy balls into monster energy balls! Mini Chocolate Chips: For some extra chocolatey goodness, I like to add mini semi-sweet chocolate chips here too! Vanilla Extract: For extra flavor!
