published Mar 25, 2024, updated Aug 14, 2024 Whenever I get a craving for a hearty meal, Italian immediately comes to mind! Recipes like this Chicken Florentine, Beef Meatball Recipe, Tagliatelle Bolognese, or this White Pesto Pasta are just a few of my favorites. There’s just something about those authentic flavors I can’t get enough of. The other day I had a serious craving for some lasagna, but I wanted to put my own twist on it and make some stuffed lasagna roll ups instead! The results were just as cheesy and saucy as you may imagine. The tomato sauce is similar to my Meatless Marinara Sauce recipe, but this is quicker version without wine and less ingredients because the filling packs the flavor. The filling starts with sautéed garlic and onions then crumbled sausage. Next, flour gets sprinkled over the sausage and is cooked for another few minutes. Add the milk, bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cook for 10 more minutes. Add in the chopped spinach and mix. Allow the filling to cool — as it does, it will thicken up really nicely. I lay the lasagna pasta out and divide the filling, spreading down the center of each piece of pasta. Roll them up and add to a sauced baking pan. It’s rather easy and BEYOND delicious! Love this recipe? Share it with the world on Pinterest.
