Travel west along the South China Sea, through Vietnam and Laos, then head due south to arrive in Thailand. Course: Main DishRecipe difficulty: Easy  🥄Description: This sweet and spicy shrimp pizza features the classic Thai flavors of another popular Thai dish, shrimp satay. Spicy shrimp, scallions, chopped peanuts and two types of cheese sit on a crust covered with creamy peanut sauce. One of the things I like the most about this recipe is how quickly it comes together, while still having plenty of texture and flavor. You shouldn’t ever have to sacrifice flavor- even in simple meals like this one!

Ingredient notes and substitutions

There are three components to the shrimp pizza recipe; the crust, pizza sauce, and toppings.See the recipe card at the bottom of this post for a complete list of ingredients. Pizza Crust Options As mentioned earlier, the focus of this dish is not really the crust; it’s the sweet and spicy shrimp. So, if you’d like to keep things really simple, use a store-bought pizza crust. Otherwise, you can make your own traditional or thin crust pizza dough. If you don’t want to use yeast, you can make a no-yeast pizza crust, or use a flatbread like lavash or barbari bread instead.

Peanut sauce recipe notes

The contrasting flavors of the sweet and spicy shrimp come from the sweet peanut butter and spicy chili paste on the Thai pizza sauce. Ingredient substitutions

Chili paste: If you’re sensitive to spicy foods, feel free to cut back on the amount of sambal oelek chili paste, or use a variety that is less spicy, like gochujang chili paste or sriracha. Coconut milk: Heavy cream (whipping cream) is a good substitute for coconut milk in sauces and curries

Other uses for Thai pizza sauce Thai peanut butter sauce is really versatile and it keeps well in the fridge for a couple of weeks. If you want to double the recipe, you can use it to create other Asian dishes. Here are a few ideas:
